The Challenge
A youth organization with a national-scale story and a quiet public presence.
Future Coalition was doing the kind of work that makes headlines, including announcing $2 million in funding to youth-led organizations ahead of the 2024 elections. But the organization’s communications presence didn’t yet match the scale of those moments.
Future Coalition had been operating quietly and behind-the-scenes, and the team needed to build a communications function that could meet the organization’s biggest moments with the visibility, voice, and velocity they deserved, without losing the youth-focused ethos that makes Future Coalition who they are.

Cross-platform communications strategy
We built and ran Future Coalition's full content and communications operation — social media, email, and original productions — managing the editorial calendar end-to-end, leading a cross-functional comms team, and serving as a strategic thought partner to leadership across departments.
Original podcast series
We produced a limited-run podcast series that gave Future Coalition’s team and partners a long-form storytelling platform to elevate youth voices and expand the organization's reach to new audiences, with our inaugural episode featuring an interview with Rep. Maxwell Frost.
Live event coverage
We deployed a Team DSB video crew to provide live coverage from the Democratic National Convention, capturing Future Coalition's presence in one of the year's most heavily covered political moments and turning it into 25+ on-brand videos throughout the DNC.
Media relations and national press
We directed Future Coalition's media relations strategy and helped secure national press coverage in outlets including SiriusXM, Nonprofit Quarterly, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Hill, and AFP.
